UPDATED: Blog Talk Live: Priscilla Grew, Museum Director

This Tuesday, October 6 on Blog Talk Live my guest will be Priscilla Grew, Director of the University of Nebraska State Museum of Natural History and Professor in the UNL Department of Geosciences, where she teaches a  course on "Geology of National Parks."  She served as UNL's Vice Chancellor for Research from 1993 to 1999, and was Director of the Minnesota Geological Survey at the University of Minnesota  from 1986 to 1993.  She has taught geology and environmental studies at Boston College, UCLA and the University of California at Davis.  She earned her Ph.D. from UC-Berkeley and her B.A. in Geology from Bryn Mawr College.

The University of Nebraska State Museum of Natural History is fondly known to many as "Morrill Hall" or "Elephant Hall"  for its spectacular exhibits of fossil mammoths and mastodons from Nebraska.  The Museum also has the Hall of Nebraska Wildlife with beautiful dioramas of Nebraska's animals and landscapes, The Dinosaur Galleries, the mineral cases, and the Discovery Center with a fun dig site for kids. There are even fossils of "sea monsters" --- the giant reptiles that lived in the inland sea that covered Nebraska over 65 million years ago.  The Museum includes the Mueller Planetarium that presents spectacular shows in "Fulldome" format, projected on the dome ceiling.

In this program we'll learn about this impressive Lincoln resource, it's regular exhibits, upcoming attractions, and a few surprising facts that you may not know.
