Join the Lancaster County Democratic Party at Central Committee Nov. 17

Please join the Lancaster County Democratic Party at the Central Committee, which meets on the third Thursday of every month (next meeting is this Tuesday, November 17th) at 7:00 pm at the Communication Workers of America (2448 N Street). 

Central Committee is the governing body of the Lancaster County Democratic Party and is open to the public.  Voting status is now obtainable under new guidelines.  This month our meeting is going to be structured differently.  We will be discussing the Legislative Team structure, our subcommittees, and how to get involved in the upcoming 2010 election.  Learn how you can be an active Democrat in our community and find a committee to suit your particular area of interest.   

The subcommittees are as follows:  

Fundraising: Plan such events as our annual Patriots’ Dinner, Torchbearer’s Celebration, and Donkeys at the Zoo.  Meets the second Wednesday of every month (except December) at 7:00 PM.  

Issues: Discuss current issues relevant to Lancaster County and bring forward resolutions to Central Committee for approval.  The Issues Committee also hosts several forums throughout the year about subjects like health care and immigration.  Meets the second Tuesday of every month (except December) at 6:00 PM.  

Membership: Help expand our membership and reach out to other organizations in Lancaster County.  Membership Committee also staffs our booth at outreach events like Juneteenth and the Lancaster County Fair.  Meets the second Monday of every month (except December) at 7:00 PM.  

Public Relations: Participate by learning how to produce our television show and publish our newsletter.  Meets the first Tuesday of every month (except December) at 5:30 PM.  

Finance: Help establish a donor database and reach potential donors through fundraising drives.  Meets the third Thursday of every month (except December) at 6:00 PM.  

Candidate Services: Recruit strong candidates to run for office.  Meets based on need.  Contact our office for next meeting time.  

Convention: Organize the bi-annual county convention.  Subcommittees include Credentials, Nominations, Rules, and Platform.  Will begin meeting again soon.  Contact our office if interested in serving.  

All subcommittee meetings take place at the office of the Lancaster County Democratic Party, located at 2215 C Street.
