UPDATED: Blog Talk Live: Interview with Doug Emery, City Councilman
by Dennis Kornbluh
Tomorrow on Blog Talk Live from 6-7pm Central I'll talk to Doug Emery, chairman of the Lincoln City Council. Doug is a native of Lincoln who has lived in
Northeast Lincoln for over 50 years. He is a graduate of Northeast High
School and attended the University of Nebraska.
Doug's wife Denise is a lifetime Lincoln resident and is a partner at Jack Keef Ford in Crete, Nebraska. Their daughter, Jennifer is a
University of Northern Iowa graduate who is married and has three
children. Their son, Shane, is a recent graduate of the University of
Nebraska and works and lives in Fairbury Nebraska.
Doug retired from the Postal Service in 2007 after 35 years in government service, including two years in the United States Army and eight years as the Postmaster of Lincoln. He has been active in TeamMates, Cornhuskers State Games, Rotary #14 and amateur boxing. Doug is one of twelve internationally certified referee/judges in the amateur ranks in the United States.
We'll discuss the West Haymarket Arena Project, among other topics.
Unfortunately, my digital recorder's batteries went dead half way through the show. It's too bad, because we had an excellent discussion. I hope that Doug will be my guest again in April, as the vote on the $25mm bond issue draws nearer. Meanwhile, please enjoy this short interview:
