Experience the North Lincoln Art Crawl May 7th
International Quilt Study Center & Museum Communications Coordinator, Maureen Ose says, “The North Lincoln Art Crawl is another great opportunity to shine a light on the quantity and quality of the arts and culture available in our North Lincoln neighborhoods.”
Gallery maps will be provided at each of the galleries.
Against the Wall Gallery, located at 6220 Havelock Avenue, will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Against the Wall Gallery presents a selection of artwork from members of the Lincoln Artists' Guild.
Heart of Gold Jewelers, located at 2634 N 48th Street in Studioville, will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Heart of Gold Jewelers presents one-of-a-kind glasswork by Portland, Oregon based artist Michael Brehm. He specializes in sturdy, functional, and brightly colored pieces. Pottery, jewelry, and photography by local artists will also be on display.
International Quilt Study Center & Museum, located at the Intersection of 33rd & Holdrege Streets, will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. International Quilt Study Center & Museum presents one last opportunity to see Perspectives: Art, Craft, Design & the Studio Quilt, which closes May 9. This large group exhibition showcases many contemporary quilts and other complementary artworks.
LUX Center for the Arts, located at 2601 N 48th Street, will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. LUX Center for the Arts presents Exploring the Triptych: Wax in Three Parts. In this group exhibition, International Encaustic Artists (IEA) members use the format of the triptych as a creative catalyst to make paintings with hot wax that have vivid colors and a variation of surfaces.
National Juried Cup Exhibition, juried by University of Florida ceramics professor, Linda Arbuckle continues through May 29. This exhibition showcases some of the best functional and non-functional ceramic cups from across the country.
Mo Java Café, located at 2649 N 48th Street, will have an art opening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and live music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mo Java Café presents the artwork of a local artist. Live music will be performed by Dr. John Walker.
9 Muses Studio, located at 2713 N 48th Street, will be open from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. 9 Muses Studio presents Housela, paintings by Joan Sangiamino and Carol DeVall, fiber art by Lana Gabel and Sher Brophy, and pen and ink drawings by Kerin Bunstock. Improvisational tribal bellydancing by Troupe Sicorae starts at 7 p.m.
the lichen, located at 2810 N 48th Street, will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. the lichen presents Haus, the paintings by University of Nebraska–Lincoln student Tim Frisch. His paintings explore the house as an entity and its relationship with both its inhabitants and the outside world.
