PODCAST: Blog Talk Live: Interview with Julia Noyes
By Dennis Kornbluh
This evening on Blog Talk Live I'll interview Julia Noyes about the founding of the Noyes Art Gallery, which is located on 119 South 9th Street in Lincoln, Nebraska. Julia, who has been a full time painter since 1982, exhibits her work both nationally and internationally. In addition, Julia teaches classes in Art History at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and at other local colleges. She opened her art gallery in 1994, and is currently organizing 60 artists each month to exhibit their works. Julia will be joined on the program by Janna Harsch, a studio artist.
A reminder that this Friday is First Friday. Julia's Noyes Art Gallery is a long-standing participant in the monthly "First Friday Art Walk", in which art galleries open at 5pm and remain open until 9pm. There are several participating galleries in downtown Lincoln that are in close proximity. It is typical for the galleries to refresh the works that are on display each month, so repeat visitors can count on seeing something new. The experience of browsing several downtown galleries once a month has become a very popular social event. Artists are typically in attendance at each of the galleries to talk to visitors about their work, which is, of course, for sale. You can get a map of the First Friday Art Walk here.
